During the Second World War, Hungary had a rather horrific time. It was allied with the Axis forces and Nazi Germany initially, however the country would be ravaged by the horrific race laws that Hitler would impose. The Hungarian Army would be lent forces during the conflict by many different countries and they would even deploy Panthers, Tiger Tanks, Shermans and even T-34s. However they did develop their own tank, known as the Turan. This was designed and created by the Hungarians for use by their own armies.
